Pupils with Special Education Needs & Disabilities

Developing your child’s mental well-being, skills and understanding of their strengths and challenges

At Kent SEND Support, we have a great belief that all children can learn, it is up to the tutor to find the best way to meet their needs.  We have supported children with a wide range of needs including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Asperger's, Autism, ADHD, PDA, ODD, anxiety and mental health conditions, sensory needs and physical disabilities.  We very much enjoy working with children who have individual needs and have always been successful at finding a way to support them and their parents.

Initial conversation:
Your initial conversation, whether by email, telephone or face to face, will be with me, Kirsten Terry, founder of Kent SEND Support.  I oversee the tutoring provision of all my tutors and we work closely together to make sure the service and support you and your child receive always meets our high standards.
In our first conversation, I will listen to you tell me the needs of your child and will answer and ask questions to make sure I fully understand your requirements and expectations.  Please be aware that I will always look at the needs of the individual child and in some instances may feel that tutoring will not be beneficial for a particular child for a number of reasons.  If this is the case, I will give you my professional opinion and my reasons for advising you not to pursue tutoring.

Continued support:
Throughout the time your child is receiving tutoring from us, you will have our continuous support.   If you require advice or a report about your child's learning we will be pleased to help.  Many of our families maintain contact with us after their child has finished their tuition.  We are always available to provide information and guidance to any of the families we have previously worked with and we enjoy hearing about our past pupils.
